How to glam up your work look!!- Part V- Friday

Fridays are the days when you are nearing the end of a satisfying week and look forward to that eagerly awaited weekend!! So put the best foot forward with this look and set rhythm for the weekend ahead.

Fridays are like the setting sun or may be the changing leaves of fall... So why not choose a colour that signifies this change... Orange!

A nice citrus orange bandage dress teamed with a beige boyfriend jacket completes your day look for Friday. To add some style and pattern lets throw in a beige-animal printed bag with a pair of beige ballerinas. Step out in style in your favourite aviators and a stylish watch to keep track of your party plans! ;)

Here is how you do it:

To Get into the night look, slip outta your jacket and add some bling. A gold sling clutch bag paired with a pair of gold sandals or pumps. If you are a bling lover (like me!) add some statement jewellery..may be a pair of earrings or a chunky bracelet! Put on some bronzer, touch up your make-up and you are ready to go!

How to glam up your work look!!- Part IV- Thursday

Its almost the weekend and while you chase those deadlines and finish your last minute work..you are also excited about catching up with your girls for the much awaited 'girls night'. For the uninitiated, most clubs host ladies night on Thursdays where they offer huge discounts and free shots. So Thursday is one of the days when you want a look that can go from day to night without much hassle. At the same time you also want to look nice and feminine! Here is how you can get that look

Ruffles, lace and bows always add drama to otherwise plain blouse and tops.
So head to your favourite store and grab one ruffled or laced top, its back in trend and highly feminine.

Team it up with a black or dark coloured trousers. Dark, because we have a long day (n night) ahead its wise to go for a darker shade of pants so you don't have to fear dropping something and staining it.

With a top so dramatic, lets go easy on the neck accessory and earrings. A simple diamond or coloured stud earring should work. You can always slip an elegant bracelet or a stylish watch to the look.

Shoes of course are very important since its 'the' night... but again considering you will be in them through the day... comfort becomes as important here as style. A pair of wedges should be the perfect choice here!

To add to the finishing touches carry some basic make up like bronzer, kohl pencil and your favourite lipstick which can be doubled up as a blush if needed.

Where to head:

Ruffled/Lace tops- The first brand that comes to my mind is Forever New, they have got some amazing lace and ruffled tops. FCUK is good with ruffles too. Other brands you could check are Mango, M&S, Promod, H&M. For Sasta, sundar and tikav option you can head to Kodal (linking road,Bandra), Wardrobe (Pali, Bandra), Blush (Near Leena Mogre), Reisse and Ritzy (waterfield road, Bandra).

Black Trousers- Zara, Mango, M&S, Espirit and UCB. For discounted stuff you can head to Reisse and Ritzy, Cloths Rack, Karma Kola, Preciosa all around Bandra and Khar.

Nude Bag- Leather Fashion (Bandra), Esbeda, Chaos (Bandra- linking road). You can also check out Preciosa and Ritzy for some stylish bags.

Nude Pumps- The one in the picture is a Salvatore Ferragamo. But I found http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifa close match at Bata (Believe me!) Other places you can head to are Tresmode, Aldo... for good bargains try Trios, Shoe Society, Shops along Waterfield road.

Watch- In the picture- Guess. If you don't want to splurge on expensive watches you can check out for deals on sites like Fashionandyou. If not, you can get a close copy from Colaba Causeway, Shop Around the Corner, Lokhandwala and ofcoz good old Alfa.

Yayy the weekend is here :)) Friday coming soon!!!!

How to glam up your work look!!- Part I- Monday

So today...I feel like writing about fashion..... rather fashionable office wear! Yes having a blog named 'Xpressions Unltd' gives me the liberty to write about anything and everything under the sun! ;)

So coming back to office wear! Have you ever noticed the office going crowd in Mumbai? Somehow they all look the same in a salwar kameez with their typical handbags and lunch box or laptop bags or in a plain black/beige trouser with a plain formal button down shirt! There are very very few people who dress differently.... who make even a Monday or a Wednesday look glamorous! And no you don't have to be working at Vogue or a fancy agency like O&M to look glam! Yes we don't have great weather in Mumbai.. so that rules out layering cloths or wearing crisp jackets. And our fabulous transport system (read trains)definitely doesn't allow one to wear a pretty silk blouse with stilettos and reach office without a wrinkle on the blouse or broken ankle or heal. So for most of us its comfort over style.

So I decided to explore some options to glam up up my week... n not just look forward to that one Friday for which i will save up that perfect skirt or the pretty lace top.

So here you go:

Monday

I usually prefer to wear White on Monday! Don't know whats my fixation with white... yes its my favourite colour.. but ya...Monday means white! :-|

So a pretty white blouse with a grey wide legged pants with a killer pair of pumps with some accessories. You can add a splash of colour with your bag or even with your shoes. Below is a dekho:

White blouse: a crisp white shirt is a must have. You can grab one from Mango/M&S if not you can even head to one of the stores on linking road.

Grey wide legged pants- Promod, Mango, Zara.

Bag- The one in the picture is a Birkin.. but you ll get imitations of this at the bag store opposite Leena Mogre Gym, Bandra.

Accessories- Linking Road has got these owls in various patterns, colours! they are super cool...and cheap!

Shoes- Aldo, Tresmode if not good old linking road. Also check out this store called Shoe Society near Bonobo, Bandra.

Tuesday to Friday... Coming Soon :)
